OPINION
LUTTIG, Circuit Judge:
For several years, Portia Bass was an employee of E.I. DuPont de Nemours & Company (“DuPont”). Trouble began when DuPont decided to reassign Bass, changing her duties. From that point on, the relationship between employer and employee deteriorated until DuPont finally decided to terminate Bass.
