This is a suit to foreclose a mortgage upon real estate in the county of Chippewa. The mortgage was executed by the defendant to John K. Stack and John Corcoran on the 30th day of November, 1901, for $26,976.70, to secure payment of five notes for that sum, Stack and Corcoran then being the owners of the Bank of Escanaba, and the defendant being a corporation organized under the laws of the State of Illinois for the purpose of manufacturing and buying and selling lumber and forest products, and had duly filed its articles of incorporation in the office of the secretary of State for Michigan…
