TATEL, Circuit Judge:

In this ease, we must decide whether the minor child of the victim of a fatal police shooting may intervene in a wrongful death action brought by the personal representative of the victim’s estate. Although we disagree with the district court that the minor child must have an independent state-law cause of action in order to participate in this litigation, we agree with the court that the minor may not intervene as a matter of right because the personal representative adequately represents her interests.
