Appellee brought this suit to recover damages on account of personal injuries sustained by him through the negligence of appellant. The petition alleges, in substance: That the city of Greenville is a municipal corporation, and on April 5, 1911, and for some years prior thereto, owned and operated an electric light plant and wires extending throughout the city for the purpose of generating electricity and lighting its public streets with electric lights and for the purpose of supplying, for compensation and pecuniary profit, the inhabitants of said city with electric lights for private use in…
