Respondent Sally Sim, aged six years, broke her left arm, just above the elbow, while playing with other children at a home where her parents were visiting friends. Her parents promptly rushed her to the nearest hospital where the appellant, Dr. Alanson Weeks, as a physician and surgeon, treated her injury. He correctly diagnosed this injury as a supracondylar fracture of the lower end of the humerus of the left arm. Following his diagnosis, he first manipulated the arm to bring the displaced bones into normal position and then put up the arm with the elbow-joint acutely…
