CLIFFORD, Justice.
Liberty Mutual Insurance Company, the workers’ compensation insurer of H.T. Winters Company, the employer of Norman Warren, appeals a decision of the Appellate Division of the Maine Workers’ Compensation Commission. Warren suffered two successive work-related incapacitating injuries, both of which contributed equally to his second injury. At the time of the second injury, for reasons not attributable to the first injury, Warren’s average weekly wage was lower than the average weekly wage at the time of the first injury.
