On December 10, 1924, William J. Storm was killed while working in a mine near the village of Iianks. The mine was operated by one or more individuals under the name of Hanks Coal Company. By reason of the failure of the employer to comply with the provisions of the Workmen’s Compensation Act, the deceased was not insured. In January, 1925, his widow made application to the Workmen’s Compensation Bureau for an award under § 11 of the Compensation Act.
