Approximately forty-three years ago, there was born in Barlad, Roumania, a son to a Jewish family, who was given the name Ianko Moishe Mendell by orthodox Jewish rites. He entered the schools of his native country where he received a high school education in the Lyceum Codreneau in Barlad. He also attended college at Bucharest, Roumania. He grew to manhood in Roumania, but early formed dreams of a career in free America where he had a brother living in Florida.
