BROWN, District Judge.
This is an action on the case for negligence, brought by the plaintiff Johnson to recover damages for personal injuries suffered upon a line of railway operated by the defendant in the state of Kansas. The writ was sued out of the superior court of the state of Rhode Island for Providence county. It commanded the attachment of the goods, chattels, and real estate of the defendant; also the attachment of the personal estate of the defendant “in the hands or possession of the New York, New Haven & Hartford Railroad Company, a corporation duly created, doing business in…
