This is an appeal by the defendant from a judgment awarding the plaintiff the sum of $1,650 damages, for and on account of four causes of action, two for unlawful arrests and two for malicious prosecution. It appears from the transcript that, on or about the third day of January, 1918, the plaintiff, W. P. Vernon, with others, located a certain placer mining claim named the “Questionnaire” situated in Plumas County, state of California; that in this location notice the claim was described as being situated in range 11 east; in October of the same year, upon having a survey made of the claim,…
