EVERETT, Chief Judge:

A general court-martial composed of officer and enlisted members tried appellant at Kaiserslautern, Federal Republic of Germany, on charges of rape and kidnapping, in violation of Articles 120 and 134 of the Uniform Code of Military Justice, 10 U.S.C. §§ 920 and 934, respectively. Contrary to his pleas, Vidal was convicted of both charges and was sentenced to a dishonorable discharge, 10 years’ confinement, total forfeitures, and reduction to the grade of E-l.
