The defendant, Samuel Hooks, appeals from the judgment of the trial court revoking his probation and committing him to the custody of the commissioner of correction for two and one-half years. On appeal, the defendant claims that the court (1) denied him his rights to due process of law by failing to provide notice as to the manner in which he violated the conditions of probation, (2) improperly found him to be in violation of probation because there was insufficient evidence of a violation, (3) abused its discretion by failing to consider the beneficial purposes of…
