Knudson, J.:

Carol E. Copeland appeals the district court’s denial of her petition for a writ of mandamus brought against the Director of the Kansas Department of Revenue (KDR) and the Clerk of the Sedgwick County District Court, challenging the process by which her property was seized to pay the sales tax liability of a corporation. KDR cross-appeals the district court’s decision that proper venue for the case is in Sedgwick County, Kansas.

We reverse the district court and remand with directions that the tax warrants against Copeland are to be withdrawn and a writ in mandamus is to be issued…
