SULLIVAN, Chief Judge:.

During April of 1990 appellant was tried by a general court-martial composed of officer and enlisted members at Frankfurt and Butzbach, Germany. Contrary to his pleas, he was found guilty of unpremeditated murder, in violation of Article 118(2), Uniform Code of Military Justice, 10 USC § 918(2). He was sentenced to a dishonorable discharge, confinement for life, total forfeitures, and reduction to Private El. The convening authority approved the adjudged sentence on July 2, 1990.
