In the fall of 1999, appellant Trevor Anthony Brown was convicted and sentenced in Dakota County for the crime of aiding and abetting first-degree felony murder, in violation of Minn.Stat. § 609.185(3) (1998), for the death of Tucker Calvin Wilson. On appeal, we reversed *718and remanded for a new trial, enforcing the strict rule prohibiting trial-court entry into the jury room to communicate with a deliberating jury. Brown v. State, 682 N.W.2d 162, 168 (Minn.2004). On remand, Brown was again convicted and sentenced for first-degree felony murder. In this…
