Mantooth, the appellant before us, was charged with carnal knowledge of the person of one Sieglinde B., in violation of the Uniform Code of Military Justice, Article 120, 50 USC § 714. The *253general court-martial which tried him returned findings of guilty and sentenced him to receive a bad-conduct discharge, as well as to total forfeitures and confinement at hard labor for two years.
