On July 30, 2001, Detra Pollard, on behalf of her son David Pearson, pro se, brought this action pursuant to 42 U.S.C. § 405(g) for judicial review of the decision of the Commissioner of the Social Security Administration (“SSA” or “Commissioner”), dated September 20, 2000, finding David ineligible for Supplemental Security Income (“SSI”) benefits under Title XVI of the Social Security Act, 42 U.S.C. §§ 1381-1383Í.
