HOFFMAN, Judge:
Appellants contend that the lower court erred in striking the default judgment against appellee. We agree and, therefore, reverse the order of the lower court.
On May 5, 1975, appellants filed a summons in trespass and assumpsit against United Elevator Co., Inc., appellee, Westinghouse Elec. Corp., and Pennsylvania Real Estate Investment Trust (hereinafter Pennsylvania). Appellants sought damages for personal injuries caused by appellant Strickler falling while entering an elevator in his residence.
