After a jury trial, the defendant, Eric Amado, was found guilty of two counts of murder in violation of General Statutes § 53a-54a1 two counts of felony murder in violation of General Statutes § 53a-54c,1 2 and one count of capital felony in violation of General Statutes § 53a-54b.3 The trial court merged the defendant’s felony murder and intentional murder convictions into the capital felony conviction and sentenced the defendant to life imprisonment without the *187possibility of release pursuant to General Statutes § 53a-35a.1 **4 On appeal, the Appellate Court affirmed…
