Appellant Gerald Waechter appeals from his conviction on seventeen counts of knowingly making false statements to the Department of Housing and Urban Development (HUD), 18 U.S.C. § 1010. Waechter is a real estate investor whose alleged false statements involved bids that he caused to be placed for houses HUD was selling.
