RYAN, Circuit Judge.
The defendants, Dalton Brown and Yvonne Meadows, were convicted by a jury on multiple counts, described in detail below, all arising out of alleged corruption in the Detroit Housing Department. Their appeals challenge their convictions on only one group of counts: those charging that the defendants made false statements to a federal agency, in violation of 18 U.S.C. § 1001.
