A grand jury indicted Appellant for aggravated assault with a deadly weapon. Tex. Penal Code § 22.02(a)(1). The jury found Appellant guilty and the court assessed punishment at ten years imprisonment.1 The court of appeals affirmed Appellant’s conviction. Maestas v. State, 963 S.W.2d 151 (Tex.App. — Corpus Christi 1998, pet. granted). We granted Appellant’s petition for discretionary review to determine whether the court of appeals properly evaluated Appellant’s claim that the police violated her Fifth Amendment right to remain silent.2 Because the facts of this case do not involve an…
