1. On the effect of a judgment rendered against a party upon the unauthorized appearance of an attorney, there js great contrariety of opinion. According to the earlier English decisions, ■followed even at the present time in a number of jurisdictions, it is held, that the appearance of an attorney for a party, though without authority, is deemed sufficient to give the court jurisdiction over his person, and that upon such an appearance the court will proceed to judgment and leave the party to his remedy against the attorney, unless the attorney be…
