Respondents William Price and Gale Norton 1 appeal the district court’s order granting Richard Demarest’s petition for a writ of habeas corpus pursuant to 28 U.S.C. § 2254 and vacating his conviction for first degree murder in Jefferson County, Colorado. See Demarest v. Price, 905 F.Supp. 1432 (D.Colo.1995).
