Following trial by general court-martial, Lt. George C. Schreiber was convicted of the premeditated murder of Bang Soon Kil, a Korean, and of conspiracy to murder the same individual, violations of Articles 118 and 81, respectively, Uniform Code of Military Justice, 50 USC §§ 712, 675. He was sentenced to dishonorable discharge, total forfeiture of pay and allowances, and confinement at hard labor for life.
