AMUNDSON, Judge.

Appellants Edwin Elbers and Joseph Vil-leneuve, individually and as representatives of a class of persons, filed this action seeking declaratory and injunctive relief protecting their right to run for the elective office of sheriff as guaranteed by Minn. Const, art. VII, § 6.
