delivered the opinion of the court:

Following a bench trial in the circuit court of Peoria County, the defendant, Cornell Gore, was found guilty but mentally ill of the offense of attempted indecent liberties with a child. (Ill. Rev. Stat. 1981, ch. 38, par. 8—4(a).) The defendant was sentenced to a term of four years of probation with the condition that he serve three months in the county jail.
