Plaintiff-appellant, Charles Monroe, sued Local Union 696 of the United Automobile, Aerospace and Agricultural Implement Workers of America, the International Union itself (UAW), and his former employer, General Motors Corporation (GMC), under § 301 of the Labor Management Relations Act (LMRA). The union defendants filed motions for summary judgment, and GMC filed a motion to dismiss. All of the motions were granted by the United States District Court for the Southern District of Ohio, Western Division, for the reasons set out in an opinion published in 540 F.Supp. 249.
