STEPHENSON, Circuit Judge.
This is an action under the Federal Employers’ Liability Act, 45 U.S.C. § 51 et seq., to recover damages for personal injuries sustained by the plaintiff in the course of his employment which were allegedly caused by the defendant railroad’s negligence. Defendant’s motions for directed verdict made at the close of plaintiff’s evidence and at the close of all the evidence were denied, as were its motion for judgment notwithstanding the verdict and its motion for new trial, made after the district court 1 entered judgment on the verdict in favor of plaintiff. 2…
