This is an action to recover damages for personal injuries alleged to have been sustained as a result of a collision between a street car and an automobile in the city of Portland. In the allegations of the complaint the accident is thus described:

“On June 20, 1927, the plaintiff was operating an automobile in a northerly direction on Second street and approached the intersection thereof with. Yamhill street. That at said time numerous vehiclés were parked along the east side of Second street next to the curb, and plaintiff was driving said automobile in that portion of the street to the west…
