Plaintiff Kathleen States (hereinafter plaintiff) was operated on for the removal of an ovarian cyst. The operation was successful and uneventful except for her complaint of pain when the TV tube was inserted in the back of her right hand prior to the surgery. Postsurgery, she awoke complaining of extreme pain in her right hand, arm, shoulder and side.
