Thompson-Starrett Company contracted with the owner of certain premises for the dismantling of the buildings standing thereupon, and the erection of a department store in their place. It subcontracted with Ottomar Stange and Anna A. Stange, composing the firm of Stange Construction Company, for the performance of a substantial portion of the work. This included all dismantling, all excavating, the building of foundation walls, the laying of all concrete below the under side of the first floor level, and various other items.
