JOHNSON, Circuit Judge:
On February 12, 1980, a federal grand jury in the Eastern District of Pennsylvania returned a fifty-two count indictment against the appellants, Francis William Hewes, II, Millard Clifford Haley, Howard E. Caldwell, Gene M. Simpson, and Walter Langford, as well as seventeen others.
