This case bears several similarities to another case we decide today, Consolidated Rail Corp. v. Lewellen, 682 N.E.2d 779 (Ind.1997). In each case, a party contends that Conrail transferred to it certain interests in a railroad right-of-way where the evidence shows that the purported transfer did not occur until after Conrail abandoned the right-of-way. At issue in the Lewellen case is whether Conrail’s putative transferee or the owners of the land adjacent to the right-of-way own the fee in the right-of-way.
