{¶ 1} On January 31, 2001, the Cuyahoga County Department of Children and Family Services (“CCDCFS”) removed Darin Nalls (“Darin”) from the home in which he was residing with his mother, appellant, Nichole D. Nalls (“Nalls”), after Nails’s other child, Danielle, had died while in her custody. On May 31, 2001, CCDCFS filed a complaint in the Cuyahoga County Court of Common Pleas, Juvenile Division, alleging that Darin was an abused and dependent child and requesting that the juvenile court grant legal custody of Darin to his father.
