SULLIVAN, J.

The defendant, Juan Parra, was charged with, inter alia, manslaughter in the second degree with a motor vehicle in violation of General Statutes § SSa-Sbb,1 based upon an accident that occurred on November 18, 1990. After rejecting an earlier plea agreement between the defendant and the state, the court accepted the defendant’s plea of nolo *619contendere on June 28, 1991, and rendered judgment thereon.
