The plaintiffs, Gregory Nichol and Ruby Nichol, brought this action in the circuit court of Cook County individually and as cospecial administrators of the estate of the decedent, Jonathan Nichol, against the defendants, John Stass and Bonnie Stass, and the Human Enrichment and Developmental Association (HEDA), an independent child welfare agency.
