The principal issue in this certified appeal is whether, under the circumstances of these consolidated cases, the Appellate Court properly concluded that the defendant, Whitey’s Frame Shop, violated the Connecticut Unfair Trade Practices Act (CUTPA)1 by disposing of automobiles owned by the plaintiffs, Frank Lawson and Dorothy Charest, in accordance with the defendant’s contract with the city of Hartford (city).
