MCI Telecommunications Corp. v. State
Wisconsin Supreme Court
1Opinion of the CourtDonald W. Steinmetz, J.
¶1. The issue in this case is whether the Public Service Commission's (PSC) interpretation of Wis. Stat. § 196.85(2), 1 specifi cally its interpretation of the phrase "revenues. . .derived from intrastate operations," is a correct interpretation that is consistent with the language of the statute. We hold that the interpretation of the phrase "revenues. . .derived from intrastate operations" by the PSC to include revenues from interstate telecommunications originating in Wisconsin is a correct interpretation. We therefore affirm the court of appeals' decision reversing the circuit court.
