In the month of September, 1908, the barge Quatsino, from' Nanaimo, and the barge Two Brothers, from Ladysmith, British Columbia, laden with coal, arrived at the subport of Seattle, State of Washington. The Quatsino discharged at the Chesley Dock 427,443 pounds of coal, of which 53,625 pounds, or 12.55 per cent, passed through a half-inch screen. At the Wellington Dock there was discharged from the same vessel 805,276 pounds of coal, of which 145,577 pounds, or 18.08 per cent, passed through a half-inch screen after two screenings.
