PERRY, Judge:

The appellant was convicted of premeditated murder and of wrongfully possessing explosive material (a claymore mine) in violation of Articles 118 and 92, respectively, Uniform Code of Military Justice, 10 U.S.C. §§ 918 and 892. He was sentenced to a dishonorable discharge, confinement at hard labor for life, total forfeitures, and reduction to the lowest enlisted grade.
