Convicted by a jury upon four counts of forgery (Pen. Code, § 470), with a prior conviction of robbery admitted, defendant Raymond Ross appeals from the judgment and from an order denying his motion for new trial.

Appellant contends that the trial court erred in (1) receiving into evidence four checks claimed to have been forged and dated September and October 1958 (two years before the ones mentioned in the information); also (2) in permitting testimony relating to such checks; and (3) in instructing the jury.
