The plaintiff instituted this action to compel the defendants to return to him shares of stock of a certain corporation or if return of said stock could not be had, to recover the market value of the stock, which was alleged to be the sum of $1400. The original complaint filed in the suit set forth a cause of action for conversion of the stock.
