This action was instituted in the district court for Jefferson county for the purpose of restraining and enjoining *747tlie mayor and council of the city of Fairbury from selling certain bonds of said city issued in pursuance of elections held therein, whereby it is claimed by the city officers that the issuance of said bonds has been duly authorized by the electors.
