Richard D. Abbott appeals from an order of a single justice of this court suspending him from the practice of law in the Commonwealth. The matter came before the single justice on the information and record of proceedings as well as the vote and recommendation of the Board of Bar Overseers (board). The board found that Abbott, as appellate counsel to Oscar Atehortua,1 had neglected his client’s postconviction remedies and had made repeated misrepresentations to both his client and bar counsel concerning his handling of the case.
