This is a personal injuries case arising out of an automobile accident which occurred on January 13, 1970, in Portsmouth, New Hampshire. The plaintiffs sued the defendants in negligence and strict liability in tort. The trial resulted in verdicts for all defendants on all counts. On June 20, 1975, Douglas, J., set aside as against the weight of the evidence the verdicts for General Motors Corporation and Yudy’s Tire. Judgment on the verdicts was granted for defendant Leighton Chevrolet, Inc., which is not a party to this appeal. On October 22, 1975, the trial court clarified its June 20 order…
