WATT, Judge.

¶ 1 This is an appeal by defendant, Kansas City Life, from the trial court’s order imposing liability against Kansas City Life on a verdict and judgment entered against Kansas City Life’s former agent, Billy Stear-man. Plaintiffs, the personal representatives of the estate of Leora Pearl Pelter, deceased, also appeal because the trial court reduced the amount of punitive damages in the Stear-man judgment from $20,000,000.00 to $1,000,-000.00. For the reasons discussed in the balance of this opinion we hold that the trial court erred both in reducing the amount of punitive damages…
