The sole question necessary for determination of this case is whether or not the note sued on is a negotiable instrument. Omitting indorsements, the note is as follows:

“For value received we promise to pay to the order of the Equitable Manufacturing Company (Not Incorporated), Chicago, 111., three hundred seventy four dollars and forty cents ($374.40), at Chicago, 111., in four installments, payable as below :
