This action, which has for its objective, the desegregation of the public schools of the Parish of Pointe Coupee, Louisiana, was initiated on March 12, 1965. The United States intervened on June 14, 1966 and has been an active participant since that time, according to the record. The record of this case indicates that the matter has been before this court on three prior occasions and before the Court of Appeals for the Fifth Circuit an equal number of times.
