The defendants in the above-entitled cause (with others) executed and delivered to the plaintiff, September 30, 1891, the following instrument:

“To the London and San Francisco Bank, Lt’d, San Francisco, California:
“You will please give credit to.the Capitol Packing Company for a sum of money in United States gold coin not exceeding the amount of one hundred thousand ($100,000) dollars; and as said packing company contemplates a course of future dealing with you, you will please continue the said credit, or, if it should be reduced or satisfied by payments made by said packing company, renew…
